We bless God for ushering us into the Tenth Month and I pray that God will crown this year with goodness for us in Jesus name.
Please remember and continue to meditate on the word the Lord gave us this year:-
Psalms 37:4 “Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.”
A very big thank you to those who joined us in our 5th Anniversary celebrations. God has been so faithful, we thank Him for His faithfulness and for all the testimonies that abounded. Our next Face to face prayer meeting is in November 2018 (date to be confirmed) we look forward to seeing you!
How God sees you is who you really are!!!
Judges Chapters 6 & 7
The Angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon and called him a ‘Mighty Man Of Valour’ but he saw himself as a nobody. Not only did he see himself as a nobody, He also saw his clan as irrelevant in Israel. Society had dictated who he was to him and he accepted it. The Israelites had been plundered by the Midianites for 7 years. They spoilt their crops, wasted them with an intent to impoverish them. They were like second class citizens. They had been robbed of their dignity and value and it was in the midst of all these that the angel appeared to Gideon and called him a mighty man of valour.
What he did not realise is that God saw in him what he did not see in himself. God saw him as:-
a *hardworking man-* the angel of the lord met him working.
a *survivor*- despite the hard times, he did not give up.
a *provider*- despite the plunder of the Midianites, He provided for his family.
an *improviser*- He threshed wheat in a winepress. He made something from what was available.
a *fighter*- he did not give up in his spirit.
Perhaps you have been seeing yourself as not good enough because that is how society, leaders, friends, family have made you feel or told you about yourself. I have good news for you today.
God is merciful. When you cry to Him for help, He answers. Judges 6:6-7.
He sends His word to heal us and deliver us from our destruction Ps 107:20
We have a more sure word of prophecy 2 Peter 2:19. The Holy Bible.
Stop focusing on who YOU say you are and focus on who God says you are.
Not only does God know who you are, more importantly, He knows who He is. And God can do all things and make you a useful instrument in His hands. So no matter the stage you are in life, or what obstacles are in front of you, or how much you lack in gifts, abilities or knowledge, God still sees you as usable and desires to use you to expand His kingdom.
Remember that When God calls, He enables! 1 Corinthians 1:26-30.
God gives us Total and Complete Victory. No matter how daunting the situation is, God gives us victory if we hold on to Him to the end and the secret is in verse Judges 6:16 “And the LORD said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.” and this applies to all of us. God is always with us. Remember David & Goliath; the parting of the Red Sea; Sennacherib & Hezekiah (Isaiah 37). Think back to when your back was against the wall and you thought it was over but God came through for you.
God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.
Judges 7:13 “And when Gideon had come, there was a man telling a dream to his companion. He said, “I have had a dream: To my surprise, a loaf of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian; it came to a tent and struck it so that it fell and overturned, and the tent collapsed.””
Jesus Christ is the bread of life. (John 6:35 “And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”)
And he is also the chief cornerstone. (Matthew 21:44 “And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”)
He fell on the Midianite army and they were defeated.
We cannot do all things in our strength but we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We only win because God is with us and God reduced Gideon’s army from 32,000 to 300 to prove this.
God called Gideon a mighty man of valour because He was with him. Greater is He that is in us, than He that is in the world. If God be in you, I put it to you that you are mighty because God does great and mighty things! Have a victorious month.
